4th Learning Teaching Training Meeting in Pojorata, Romania

Two teachers and the school headteacher of our school were among the 14 teachers from Poland, Italy, Portugal and Latvia who visited Scoala Gymnaziala Pojorata in the region of Bucovina in Romania. This meeting involved only teachers as it was the first meeting of the second year of our program. 





                                 



Monday, September 23rd

Meeting with teachers and officials of Pojorata village at the Community Hall of the village. Artistic programme organized and performed by the students of our school, with specific songs from all participating countries. After lunch, the teachers met to discuss the topics in the program. 
Psychologist Adina Zota gave a presentation on the problems that children have today to connect with nature, in an age of gadgets.



            

      




   


Tuesday,  September 24th

Visiting the Pojorata Middle School, brief class attendance and conversations with the students. Travelling to the Pietrele Doamnei Nature Reservation, from the Rarau-Giumalau Massif. We went through the woods, circled the rocks, climbing Piatra Soimului and Third Rock, and discussed the origin of the area, the fauna and flora of the area.
  












Wednesday, September 25th

Visiting places in the south of area: Neamtului Fortress, a fortress of the ruler Stefan Cel Mare, Secu Monastery and meeting Father Cleopa who told us about the Greeks who lived in the monastery and were killed by the Turks.After a quick pass through the city of Piatra Neamt, we stopped at the Bicaz Gorges, 6 km long out of which we walked about one kilometre; a mountain area, with wooded areas, meadows, alpine gaps, rocks, gorges, natural lakes and ending with the Red Lake known by the locals and under the name of Ghilcoș lake, a natural dam lake formed at the foot of Hășmașului Mare in 1837); rich in flora consisting of gorunets and birches, spruce, juniper and grass; and a fauna well represented by several species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects.In the evening we crossed the Bicaz dam, where the Izvorul Muntelui accumulation lake (also known as Bicaz Lake) formed on the middle course of the Bistriţa River.



     
 



















     Thursday, September 26th

We began with Moldovita Monastery, Lucia Condrea painted eggs museum, then Sucevita Monastery and after lunch we stopped at Marginea black ceramic workshop. Finally we visited the Catholic church in Cacica, where there is a small Polish population.
In the evening we enjoyed a traditional Romanian dinner at a restaurant listening to folk mausic and watching folk dances offered by the Mayor.

                                      


                              


Friday, September 27th

Meeting to discuss about IT tools we use in the Erasmus project: Mobility tool, e-twinning, Europass Mobility.Travel to the Forestry Chalet in Putna Valley where everyone enjoyed a traditional lunch.
