EVALUATION of the Program - ΑΞΙΟΛΟΓΗΣΗ του προγράμματος

Evaluation is conducted by/with:

  • Questionnaires/ Survey
  • Participants : about 40 students of the 6th Class
  • Check group (about 40 students not participating in the program)
  • Headteacher's interview
  • Participant teachers' questionnaire

A.    Just before the beginning of our program, our students took part in an online survey in order to measure their attitude towards Nature.
The same questionnaire will be answered at the beginning of the second year and finally at the end of the 3-year project (due to Covid-19 situation) in order to check the students' change in attitude towards Nature.
Moreover our aim is to measure the difference in mentality towards Nature that characterizes the students that participate in the project in comparison with those who do not.

B. Evaluation of the meetings

All participants (teachers and students) evaluate The Learning - Teaching - Training Activity that they participated in.

End of the first year of the program  : June 2019

40 students participating in the program and 40 not participating students answered the same questionnaire in order to check the changes in their attitude towards Nature.




Beginning of the second year of the program: September 2019

50 students  participating in the program from class 6 and 50 not participating  answered the same questiionnaire in order to check their attitudes towards the program at the beginning of its second and last year.

END of the program  survey -    31st May 2021

48 students  participating in the program from the 6th Class and 44 students not participating from the 5th Class  answered the same questiionnaire in order to check the differences or similarities in their attitude towards Nature at the end of the program compared to the results gathered in the other surveys conducted at the beginning and at the end of each year of the program.

The Headteacher's interview conducted by Students of 6th Grade.

The students became journalists for a while and asked the School Headteacher, Mr. Keramaris Konstantinos, questions regarding the impact of the "Log in Nature" Erasmus+ program on the Institution and on the students and teachers of the school. 




These are the questions they posed and the answers they collected. 

Questions
1. Is there any change in methods used by teachers concerning bringing the students closer to nature?
     Yes, we use differentiated methodology with activities that bring students closer to         Nature using the Project method and the group-cooperational method.
2. Are the students of your school closer to Nature?
     Yes, as a result of the program, the students have come closer to Nature, lived in it         and have realised its value.
3. In what aspects are the students closer to Nature?
     -Do students spend more time outdoors (playgrounds, parks, forests, green areas) during schooltime (lessons, breaks, additional school activities)
     Yes, they spend more time outdoors with their families and at school participating          in a variety of activities.
4. Has "Log in Nature" Erasmus+ program influenced any of the internal school programs?
       Yes, introducing more trips closer to Nature, introducing contact with Nature to the school curriculum 
5. Are there any plans to introduce some activities from 'Log in Nature" project to some school programs? 
       Yes, educational subjects throughout the school curriculum, involvement with endangered species and  endemic species.
6. What elements of outdoor activities bringing children closer to Nature have been introduced into school practice? 
      Visits to forests, parks, creation of school garden, contact with nature, camping              activity, cycling activity, hiking, visits to Environmental centres, Nature protection        awareness.
7. What elements of outdoor activities bringing children closer toNature will be introduced into school practice? 
      Visits to forests, national parks, taking care of the school garden , expanding the             school garden. We have come into contact wiht the city officials to help us expand        the school garden. 

8. In the project (page 104 of the application) there are various activities mentioned to stay in the school education practice after the project is closed. Which of these propositions do you plan to introduce permanently to the school curriculum?
  We will exchange our created didactic materials with our partners and introduce them into our curriculum activities; We will care about the birds and animals we encounter in our tows and out of them ;we will take trips to gardens and parks; we will learn about protected species ; we will use Nature materials to create works of art and many more
      
9. Has  the school done any changes in its educational, relaxation and play spaces (both indoor and ourdoor) concerning bringing children closer to Nature?
   Yes, the playgrounf has been cleaned and more plants have been planted, we have introduced flowres and aromatic plants as well. We have painted flowers and fruit on the walls to make the surroundindgs more appealling to students.

10. Is the school indoor and outdoor space more attractive?In what aspects?
     We have painted flowers and fruit on the walls to make the surroundindgs more             appealling to students.
11. Are there any plans to modify school indoor and outdoor space further , in what way?
     Yes, a representative of the City council has come to arrange a planting expedition       to our school in the coming Autumn
12. Have you got any feedback about the "Log in Nature" project from students' parents or teachers? What feedback is this? 
All students, teachers and parents have been enthusiactic about being involved in the program. The parents have helped us with the school garden cleaning and planting and the students have enjoyed their contact with nature. 
13. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the transnational cooperation of the school?
-cooperation, new ideas, new methods, making friends, European dimension of School
